Every vote is important in counting: Observer

Ongole: The general observer for the counting in Ongole parliamentary constituency Dheeraj Kumar said that every vote is important in the counting of the votes in general elections, scheduled on May 23. He conducted training on the counting process for the micro observers at A1 Convention Hall in Ongole on Tuesday.

Dheeraj Kumar explained to the micro observers that they should watch every action by the counting supervisor and counting assistant during the counting process and register the number of votes polled for each candidate carefully. He mentioned that they should see the counting process go on without any mistakes and warned that action would be initiated on the staff, who fails in their duty.

He said that the observers should record the counting process and follow the election commission guidelines and advised them to not have any relationship with the counting agents or political parties. He ordered the micro observers to reach the counting centres by 6 am with their photo ID card issued by the district electoral officer and order copies.

He has made it clear that no mobile phone is allowed inside the counting centre. He said that the observers should record the displayed votes in the control unit as per the candidate on a round basis. He warned them that two EVMs on every table will be randomly checked by the central observers and will be checked by the record with the micro observers.

The central observers Major Siddhalingaiah, S Hirmat, HK Sarma ordered them to follow the guidelines issued by the election commission and act according to the training videos. They said them to work in a team environment and deliver their duties successfully.
