Excise department conducts awareness camp
Kakinada: Excise and Prohibition Department organised an awareness camp on illicit liquor to the people of rural areas of Valasapakala and Nemam villages on Sunday on ill effects of consumption of illicit liquor.
At the two-day programme, which concluded on Sunday, the excise officials took a pledge from the locals not to opt for illicit liquor . They also sought information from the locals on the existence of belt shops in the vicinity of the villages.
Local village officials VAOs and VROs also took part in the rally and awareness programme on the two days. According to excise and prohibition (north) inspector P Srinivas they are keeping a constant vigil on the making of illicit liquor and sought public cooperation in the form of awareness on making of illicit liquor and on liquor belt shops in remote rural areas.
