Expenditure limit explained to political parties in Eluru
Eluru: The candidates contesting for Assembly should not exceed the expenditure limit of Rs 28 lakh and Lok Sabha candidates cannot cross the limit of Rs 70 lakh.
Media certification and monitoring committee will calculate the poll expenditure by candidates through print, electronic and social media.
The candidates have to submit the campaign material in the CD form for permission for its relay. Without prior consent of the committee, no election campaign content would be broadcast by channels.
Disclosing these details at a meeting organised with the political parties' here on Monday, Collector Praveen Kumar appealed to them to cooperate for smooth conduct of the elections.
Stating that election code of conduct came into force from 5 pm on Sunday, he asked all the political parties to follow the code to avoid action.
Both employees of government and candidates of the political parties should strictly follow the code of conduct, he added.
As the polling dates were announced, no name from voter list would be deleted. Those who wish to register their names in the list should do so before March 15, he said.
The Collector revealed that any person carrying money more than Rs one lakh should possess the documents relating to the amount.
Otherwise, the officials would seize such money as per the Election Commission (EC) guidelines, he warned.
