Family commits suicide over financial problems in Srikakulam district

Srikakulam: In a tragic incident, a family has committed suicide over financial problems in Srikakulam district. The deceased identified as A Shankar Rao, his wife Kalavathi and their daughter Geetanjali, who belongs to Kothapeta village in Jalumuru Mandal here in the district.

According to the sources, Shankar Rao took some loan from a money lender and couldn't not able to pay back the amount. With this, the moneylender started to harass the family over repayment.

It's reported that recently the financier took away bike from Shankar Rao. Over this, the family felt insulted and committed suicide by consuming pesticides. The locals noticed them, immediately rushed to Narasannapeta government hospital, where trio died while receiving the treatment. On the incident, the police registered a case and are investigating further.
