FAPTO slams government over ban on Telugu in Kakinada
Kakinada: Federation of Andhra Pradesh Teachers Organisation (FAPTO) chairman K S Subramanyam demanded that the government continue Telugu medium in government schools.
Addressing the media here on Friday, he said that it was a shame on the part of the State government to bring GO 81 banning Telugu medium in government schools. "Why has the government brought the GO," he questioned.
He said that new education policy Chairman Kasturi Rangan has expressed the view that mother tongue should be adopted for Class I to VIII. He said that the state government already established a regulatory authority to implement new education policy 2019.
But the government acted against the proposals. Banning of Telugu medium is a fatal decision to Telugu society. FAPTO demanded that the government withdraw GO 81 and continue both mediums.
