Fast enters 63rd day for continuation of road in Kovvuru

Kovvuru: Demanding continuation of Dommeru -Nandamuru road, the farmers continued their fast on 63rd day at Dommeru on Thursday. The farmers have also been demanding that the government construct under bridge on highway to enable them to transport their produce to other places. The farmers under the auspices of AP Rythu Sangham blocked highway for some time.

Addressing the agitators, the sangham leader K Srinivas said that the road was only way for the farmers to transport their produce. Even people would travel by this road. Even though the farmers have been fasting for more than two months, the State government had failed to respond and solve the issue.

It was high time the government reacts and continues the road to help farmers and others use it to meet their daily travel needs. If the government did not take action in farmers' favour the farmers would not hesitate take up fast-unto-death agitation, he threatened.
