Father, along with his 5-year-old son commits suicide in Eluru

Eluru: A father has committed suicide by consuming pesticides mixing in the cooldrink and later gave it to his 5-year-old son. This incident has created a flutter in Eluru.

The locals who noticed them, rushed to Eluru government for treatment, where the doctors declared the father as brought dead. As the boy's health condition was critical, he was shifted to a private hospital. Going into details, U Siva Prasad (35), residing at Jogi Meda under Eluru One Town limits, has got married to a Muslim woman Harini.

Siva Prasad is a native of Gopavaram in Musunuru mandal, but living in Eluru from past some time. The couple has five-year-old son Rana Karthikeya, who is studying LKG in CRR public school here in the town.

Siva works as a distributor for Vallabha milk dairy in Eluru. On Tuesday, wife Harini went to Vijayawada. In this meantime, he committed suicide by drinking pesticides mixing in cooldrink and also gave it to his son.

On knowing about the incident, the friends took them to Eluru government hospital at 7:30 pm, where the doctors confirmed that Siva Prasad was already dead. As the child's condition was critical, he was shifted to a private hospital for better treatment. The reason for his suicide is not yet known. On receiving the information, the police registered a case and investigating further.
