First woman chairperson for Gudivada market yard takes oath
Gudivada: Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Venkateswara Rao said that a Dalit woman became the chairman of the Gudivada market yard due to the initiative taken by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Kodali Nani congratulated the market yard committee on the occasion of the oath taking ceremony at the market yard in Gudivada on Wednesday. For the first time in the history of Gudivada, a woman was elected as the chairperson of the market yard. M Sunitha was elected to the post. Thota Nagarju was elected as the vice-chairman of the market yard. The chairperson, vice-chairman and directors took the oath in a programme organised amidst the jubilation of YSRCP functionaries and leaders at the market yard.
Speaking on the occasion, Kodali Nani said that previously only men were elected as the chairperson of the market yard and belongs to only one caste since the formation of the yard in 1971. He said that a Dalit woman became the chairperson of the market yard due to the implementation of 50 percent reservations for the SC/ST/BC and minorities in the nominated posts. He alleged the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has been levelling false allegations that Chief Minister was the anti-Dalit.
Bapatla MP N Suresh, Kaikaluru and Pamarru MLAs K Rakshana Nidhi and K Anil Kumar and others participated in the oath taking ceremony. Minister Kodali Nani and other leaders congratulated the market yard committee new panel on the occasion of oath taking ceremony.
