Floral tributes paid to Savitribai Phule in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Floral tributes were paid to Savitribai Phule by the BC JAC president and YSRCP leader Buddha Nageswara Rao to mark her death anniversary here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Nageswara Rao said that education plays a key role in the uplift of the downtrodden and women can achieve success in society with education.

Jyothirao Phule on observing this got his wife Savitribai Phule educated and she became the first woman teacher in the country. He said that even after decades of Independence, there is no equality to women in the country.

He alleged that the ruling TDP had destroyed democracy by deleting the votes of the people who were against the ruling party.

He appealed to all the people to teach a lesson to the TDP in the elections. He demanded that the CBI probe voter's deletion issue.
