Foot over bridge inaugurated at Vizianagaram railway station
Vizianagaram: The Waltair division of East Coast Railway completed the construction of a 6.0 mt (20 feet) wide and 62.70 mt (205 feet) long foot over bridge(FOB) at a record time of 82 days, ahead of its scheduled time of 90 days at Vizianagaram railway station. Divisional Railway Manager Mukul Saran Mathur inaugurated the FOB for public usage in presence of senior officers.
The Rs.2.95-crore project was built at the Vizianagaram Railway Station for which the work had begun on December 25, 2018. The construction of FOB was completed on 16th March, 8 days ahead of its target date.
A board displaying the progress of the work on each day was put up at the railway station and to monitor the work four surveillance cameras were installed at the site.
Apart from opening the bridge, the DRM also commissioned coach guidance display board and at a glance display board which will guide the passengers to board the trains on the nominated platforms and to know coach position.
The DRM said every care has been taken to improve the services and amenities at Vizianagaram railway station and two lifts will come up shortly for the convenience of passengers.
