Former AP speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao dies in Hyderabad after suicide bid

Former Andhra Pradesh assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao passed away while undergoing treatment here at Basavatarakam hospital in Hyderabad.
It is learned that Rao was humiliated after the YSRCP foisted cases against his family members which drove him to commit suicide. Though his family members were granted bail, he is learned to have been depressed over it.
According to his family members, Siva Prasad went to his room after having breakfast and did not come down. He was seen hanging himself to the ceiling fan after which his family members rushed him to the hospital.
Kodela ventured into politics in 1983 when NT Rama Rao founded Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
