Former MLC Majji Sarada passes away

Srikakulam: Former MLC and Congress leader Majji Sarada (58) died of cardiac arrest at her residence at Kondapur in Hyderabad on Tuesday. She was native of Mandasa in Srikakulam district.

She was the eldest daughter of former APCC president Majji Tulasi Das. She was elected as MLC in 2007 and also served as vice-president for APCC. She had contested as Congress canidate in 2019 Assembly elections and was defeated. She had been maintaining cordial relations with leaders of all parties and stayed away from controversies and individual criticism against any party leader.

On learning about her death, State Legislative Assembly Speaker T Sitaram, Minister for Roads and Buildings D Krishna Das, YSRCP MLA D Prasada Rao, TDP MLAs K Atchannaidu, B Ashok and leaders of other parties expressed their grief and said that Srikakulam lost a senior leader in her death.
