Former MP Kothapalli Geetha joins BJP
Amaravati: The former Araku MP and Jana Jagruthi Party president Kothapalli Geetha has joined BJP on Tuesday. Along with BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, she has met the party president Amit Shah.
After the meeting, Amit Shah has invited Kothapalli Geetha into party by facilitating her by BJP shawl. On the occasion, Geetha said she is ready to take up any responsibilities given by the party high command.
In 2014 elections, Kothapalli Geetha won as Araku MP from YSRCP. Later she came out of the party and launched Jana Jagruthi Party in 2018.
In recent elections, Jana Jagruthi Party has contested at some constituencies but did not win a single seat.
Though, they were speculations that Kothapalli Geetha will join the TDP before the elections. After the terrible defeat of TDP in the election results, she has decided to join BJP. As part of it, she joined the BJP in the presence of Amit Shah in New Delhi.
