Former YSRCP MLC MA Rahman gets three years jail imprisonment

Hyderabad: In the case of firing in the air with the revolver, the 17th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court has announced three years jail imprisonment with Rs 5000 fine to former YSRCP MLC MA Rahman.

Going into details, at the byelections of 15 June 2011, the YSR Congress party has won 15 Assembly seats out of 18 seats. For which the party activists have launched the celebrations by firing crackers at the YSRCP office at road No 45 in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

MA Rahman, who was an MLC at that time has reached the party office, As the celebrations were on a full swing, on seeing him the party activists have carried him over their shoulders.

With this Rahman was over warmth with joy and took out the licensed revolver from his pocket and fired 3 shots into the air.

At that time, Jubilee Hills SI K Saidulu was in the duty at that place, after confirming that Rahman has fired his revolver, SI has booked a case under IPC section 336, under the rule of the Arms Act 27(1).

The complainer and the witness in the case is SI Saidulu. So with the strong evidence, a charge-sheet was produced in the court.

AS SI was the only witness in the incident, everyone thought that the court will dismiss the case. But with the strong evidence, and by giving perfect arguments to the defense cross-examination in the court.

After examining the evidence and the witnesses during the trial, Rahman was found guilty under the charges of Arms Act. The XVII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Nampally B Srinivasa Rao has pronounced the judgment on Tuesday.
