Four arrested for murder of headmaster in Kakinada
Kakinada: Indrapalem police arrested four persons, including three minors, on charge of killing of a headmaster, Patnala Venkata Rao, at his house in Turani under Indrapalem police Station limits.
The police seized gold ornaments and silver articles, two motorcycles and two cell phones and watches, all worth Rs 23,000 from the arrested, according to Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi here.
He told the reporters here on Wednesday that the accused had murdered the headmaster by stabbing him with a sharp-edged knife when he was asleep on the intervening night of September 14-15. He was the headmaster in the MPP upper primary school in Reputu Village under Kakinada rural mandal.
Asmi said that under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police A K Khan and sub-divisional police officer Akula Murali Krishna, Kakinada Rural circle, took up investigation and cracked the mystery behind the murder. He said the accused were addicted to bad vices and hatched a plan and murdered the deceased to rob the entire property in the house of the deceased.
The SP said the headmaster had earlier engaged the minors, who were arrested in the murder, for plucking coconuts. They conducted recce of the house of the headmaster on September 12, he said. Kakinada Rural Circle Inspector along with the personnel MD Usman, G. Satyannarayana and others participated in the investigation with the help of IT core team and fingerprint experts. The SP presented cash prizes and certificates to the police personnel who took part in the investigation.
