Four-tier security strategy for election

Rajamahendravaram: The Chintapalli Sub-division police of the Alluri Sitarama Raju district have implemented a robust four-tier security strategy to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the electoral process for coming General Elections-2024.

This extensive security arrangement in the Andhra Odisha Border (AOB) region includes the deployment of 56 Greyhounds parties, 20 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and 40 District Special parties, alongside the Andhra Pradesh State Police (APSP) and local police forces.

The advanced preparation involves rigorous combing of the agency jungles and nearby polling locations by specialized anti-Naxal forces. Greyhounds, District Special parties, CRPF and APSP are diligently performing road openings, bomb disposal, and maintaining static security to fortify the region. Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) are also on standby to handle any emergency situations swiftly. Drones are widely being employed this time to keep an eye from the sky on any suspicious movement.

Under the vigilant leadership of SP Tuhin Sinha, over 5,600 personnel are actively involved in sanitising operations across the area to deter Naxal activities and ensure a secure environment for voters, said Additional SP K Siva Pratap Kishore. These operations include thorough combing exercises, vehicle checks, and bomb squad assessments to foster public confidence.

Chintapalli police have also been actively engaging with the community through several events in the interior regions of Kannavaram, Veeravaram, Patrunigunta, and Korukonda. These initiatives have been met with enthusiastic and heart warming responses from the public, who are increasingly vocal in their criticism of Naxals for hindering developmental projects such as roads and communication towers.

Siva Pratap Kishore remarked on the shifting public sentiment, noting that the local communities are no longer receptive to Maoists. He warned that any sympathisers engaging in unlawful activities will be strictly dealt with under the law.

Police have released details of active Maoist party members, including rewards for information leading to their capture, encouraging public cooperation in maintaining law and order.

Furthermore, the police have extended an invitation to Maoists to renounce violence and contribute to nation-building by participating in the democratic process.
