Foxconn India head meets CM

Amaravati: Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said Andhra Pradesh is the best place for investments and assured full cooperation to the investors. Josh Foulger, Country head and managing director Foxconn International Holding, India, one of the major cellphone assembling companies in the world, called on Jagan at the Secretariat here on Tuesday.

During the brief discussion, the Taiwanese multinational electronics company head said that their company has been providing employment to 15,000 women in their unit at Sri City SEZ in Nellore district.

He told the Chief Minister that their company has provided skill development training to the women and also will increase production. Foxconn company supplies 35 lakh cell phones per month to various brands.

The Chief Minister told Foulger that the state government was ready to welcome new opportunities and was taking all steps to make it an electronic hub. He said that the government would establish skill development centres in each of the 25 Parliamentary constituencies with high standards to train best manpower.

"The government is planning to create more jobs through these skill development centres and Foxconn should take steps forwards in this regard," the Chief Minister said.
