French team visits Vijaya Dairy, NTTPS in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: A French delegation, which is keen on investing in Andhra Pradesh, visited Vijaya Dairy plant in the city and Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power plant in Ibrahimpatnam on Wednesday. The delegation was divided into two teams and one visited Vijaya Dairy and the second one NTTPS.
Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Co-operative Federation (APDDCF) managing director G Vani Mohan while explaining the activities of the dairy said the cooperative which began in 2001 has reached a turnover of Rs.712 crore.
She said the dairy was serving 1.27 lakh farmers by procuring milk and selling dairy products to consumers. Vijaya Dairy is one of the biggest dairies in the country with a vast network of consumers and farmers, she said while adding that 98 per cent milk was collected from buffaloes. The delegation visited the ghee processing unit, milk packing plant, incubation room, butter milk unit and other works in the dairy and enquired about the technology and functioning.
Another team visited NTTPS and inspected the power production, plant capacity and spoke to the engineers. The French delegation was led by Guy Sidos, Vicat, Clande Cham and Dhortie Pineav and others.
