Funds released for development of roads in Vizianagaram district
Vizianagaram: Various roads passing through Vizianagaram will be developed to facilitate hassle-free movement for vehicles. As part of it, the road at the level crossing will be developed and the work on approach road at the railway overbridge too will be completed. The government has released funds for the works, according to officials.
The roads to be developed are Salur bypass road and Nathavalasa -Raipur road. A long pending work to lay approach road at Manapuram railway overbridge will be taken up and Rs 42 crore has been sanction for it.
The National Highway Authority of India has decided develop roads which witness heavy traffic. The authorities have prepared plans to widen these roads. A road from Nathavalasa to Raipur via Vizianagaram would be widened as four-lane at a cost of Rs 125 crore. An approach road for flyover would be completed at a cost Rs 42 crore.
The government has sanctioned Rs 42 crores for the railway overbridge. The overbridge would ensure the vehicular movement between Raipur and Visakhapatnam Is hassle-free, said K Raghavendra Rao, Superintendent Engineer of National Highway Authority.
