Tirupati: Academics of more than 3,000 students have been affected over the delay in announcement of exam results by Sri Venkateswara University (SVU).

The varsity's examination branch did not declare semester exam results of degree and postgraduate courses despite new academic year (2019-20) has begun a week ago. It may be noted here that that SVU had conducted LLB instant exam in August 2018.

So far, the results were not declared even after 11 months of conducting exams. The law students have submitted representations on several occasions to Vice-Chancellors (V-Cs) and Registrars concerned but the results are still pending.

The exam branch officials are showing negligence in finalising examiners and setting up spot valuation centres. The LLB students have lost an academic year due to results day. They missed a chance to take admission into ML course in the last academic year (2018-19).

The delay in announcement of exam results was attributed to lack of coordination between the private IT company and examination department. The SVU had given a contract to IT firm for generation of marks' lists and certificates. However, the varsity stopped the payments to the IT company.

Responding over the issue, SFI's SVU leader N Madhav Krishna speaking to The Hans India said memorandums were submitted to officials concerned for several times But, no official took an initiative to resolve the issue, he lamented.

In an academic year, two V-Cs have stepped down from the office. Varsity's new Registrar P Sridhara Reddy has assured students that calendar for announcement of exam results will be released in advance.
