GAIL Institute of Skills trains jobless youth in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: GAIL (India) Limited has been successfully running its GAIL Institute of Skills at Nagaram village in East Godavari district since 2015. It was started under its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR). The institute was aimed to impart industry related training, placement linked skill training programme located in the project affected area of Mamidikuduru mandal. 

The institute is mobilizing unemployed youth and women in the mandal and linking them with entrepreneurship and also serving the dual purpose of linking the youth to jobs and meeting the requirement of trained manpower of respective companies.

According to a survey conducted by IL&FS, Skill Development Corporation Limited around Mamidikuduru mandal, 36 percent of youth aspiring to get training in oil and gas, 24 percent of youth showing interest in capital good and related sector and of the total trainees 34 percent belong to below poverty line.

According to GAIL sources, in GAIL Institute of Skills, 118 candidates underwent training in the year of inception and obtained jobs in various MNCs. In the year 2016-2017, as many as 131 candidates after completion of training in Auto CAD got jobs in MNCs. In the year 2017-2018, as many as 177 candidates after their training in industrial electrician, instrumentation courses got jobs. In the year 2018-2019, 151 candidates after their training in industrial welder, technician instrumentation and industrial electrician joined in MNCs.

GAIL covered Razole, P. Gannavaram and Amalapuram assembly constituencies in this regard. The age will be considered between 18 years to 30 years with tenth, ITI, diploma and B Tech qualifications as per the role of the job.
