Ganja worth 7.6 lakh seized

Kakinada: The Gandepalli police in East Godavari seized 380 kilo Ganja worth Rs 7.6 lakh and a car used for transporting the same on NH 216 on Wednesday.

According to Pedddapuram in-charge sub-division police officer (SDPO) ABG Tilak, the Gandepalli police during their night patrolling noticed an Innova car moving without police clearance.

On reaching a Dhaba at Tallaru, the police found the vehicle abandoned on roadside. "We are verifying the ownership of the abandoned car to initiate further action on this illegal transport of Ganja," Tilak said.
