The gas leak at Katrenikona of Uppudi in East Godavari has not yet come under control for the third consecutive day. On the other hand, it is reported that the gas leak is associated with a loud noise on Tuesday morning creating panic in the villagers. The ONGC Boauch Control Team has stepped in to control the gas leak. A team from Mumbai inspected the venue and made several suggestions. The technicians have removed the Debris from the gas well and begun the task of locating the leaking valve.

Earlier, the fire hazard management teams have failed to control the gas leakage with the Water Umbrella; hence the Mumbai experts are called on for the operations. ONGC officials are trying to send the mud-filled with chemicals substance through the valve from which the gas is leaking.
