Getting answers is members' right: Shariff Mohammed Ahmed
Amaravati: IT is the fundamental right of the members of the Assembly and the Council to get answers to their questions during the question hour, said Legislative Council chairman Shariff Mohammed Ahmed.
Along with Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram, he addressed the meeting of the special chief secretaries, principal secretaries and secretaries of various departments in view of the forthcoming session of the Legislative Assembly and the Council from Monday.
The Council chairman said that the heads of departments concerned are responsible for compulsorily providing answers to the questions raised by the members. The responsibility of making the session success squarely lies on the officials, he added. "People look forward for the answers to the questions pertaining to their regions and they would be happy if they found answers and even solutions," he said.
The Speaker said that the heads of departments should conduct reviews before the session regarding the answers provided in the previous session which would do a lot of good.
