GITAM presents honorary fellowship to Vizag Bio Valley CEO
Visakhapatnam: GITAM School of International Business (GSIB) presented honorary fellowship to Visakhapatnam Bio Valley CEO Amit Srivastava here on Saturday during its 10th Graduation Day ceremony.
Addressing the graduates, the CEO encouraged them to be a part of the massive 'Start-up India' concept which would place Visakhapatnam on the global platform. He advised students to take up jobs with start-ups to learn, evolve and exit to set up their own companies.
IIM Bangalore Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship Chair Professor S Raghunath reiterated that there were great opportunities to grow for local talent in the globalised economy. He appealed to students to create opportunities rather than seeking them. Annual report of the school was presented by dean and director, GITAM Institute of Management, Y Gouthama Rao.
GSIB PG Programmes Chairperson Lubza Nihar announced the award of degrees to the graduating students. The School presented cash awards and medals to MBS students for their best academic performance. Vikas Kumar Srivastav (president gold medal), Md Noor Alam (gold medal), Lokesh Tankala (silver medal) and Cheppa Likhita (bronze medal) were awarded the GITAM Teachers medals.
Konda Akhil was awarded with a cash prize of Rs one lakh (Dr K Rosaiah Award constituted by Symbiosis Technologies) and a full fee waiver of Rs 3,75,000, while Kandula Kavya Sree was awarded with Rs 1,87,500 (50 per cent fee waiver). The occasion was witnessed by the parents of the graduating students, faculty and staff of the institution.
