Government committed to implement Navaratnalu: Peddi Reddy
Chittoor: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy reiterated that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had issued instructions to implement the schemes mentioned in Navaratnalu. Priority will be given to supply of water for drinking and for irrigation in the drought prone areas in next five years, he said.
Participating in district development review meet held at Sadam Mandal Office in Punganur Assembly Constituency on Saturday, Ramachandra Reddy said that it was the prime responsibility of the district administration to address the problems of the people.
In the recent elections, the ruling party got majority ranging between 30,000 to 40,000 in each segment in the district and Chief Minister is planning to develop the district as a role model, he said.
He stressed that the district administration should always be accessible to the people in implementing schemes mentioned in in Navaratnalau. He instructed the District Collector to pay special attention for developing his native Punganur constituency in the back drop of its poor progress.
The Minister further said that he would convene a meeting with Agricultural Minister and officials to review the agricultural prospectus of Chittoor district on next Monday in Vijayawada. District Collector N B Gupta presided over the review meet in which several district officers were present. Chittoor MP N Reddappa, Thamballapalli MLA P Dwarakanath Reddy and others were present.
