Rajamahendravaram: CPI state secretariat members G Obulesu and Ravula Venkaiah alleged that YSRCP government had miserably failed to come to the rescue of flood evacuees in the state. After five days, now the state government is supplying food and other material to them, they complained.

Speaking to the media at party office here on Tuesday, they said many villages in twin Godavari districts were marooned mainly lanka areas and thousands of people were shifted to relief camps, where they are not getting food on time.

Because of coffer dam, about 70 tribal habitations in twin Godavari districts were submerged as the dam obstructed the flow of flood water. Usually, the villages will be marooned when first warning was given at Dowlesawram. But because of coffer dam, flood water surged into tribal habitations much earlier.

Former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for his own ends constructed the coffer dam and underlined the need to register a case against him. TDP and YSRCP gave support to the BJP relating to abolition of Article 370 and 35 A along with educational and RTI bills, they criticised. CPI district secretary T Madhu, N Rama Rao and others were present.
