Government saves 68 crores in reverse tenders of Nellore Althurupadu Balancing Reservoir
The reverse tendering policy adopted by the government in AP has been widely criticized. Nevertheless, the government has adopted a reverse tendering for the Polavaram works and saved the government funds. With the success reverse rendering in Polavaram, the govt has applied the same formula in other government contracts.
CM YS Jagan, who recently went to reverse tendering in the Nellore district Alturupadu reservoir, was once again successful. Another Rs 67.81 crore has been saved this time.
The AP government recently invited tenders for the work of the Alturupadu Balancing Reservoir of worth 253.77 crores. Eight companies were involved in reverse tendering. One company quoted 218.09 crore as L-1. Reverse tendering was carried out for this amount. So this time Hyderabad's BVSR Constructions quoted at 185.6 crores (26.72% less). AP Treasury saved Rs 67.81 crore by quoting lower than initial bidding.
