Government will provide healthcare to all citizens: Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas

Ongole: Medical and Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas on Wednesday said the State government would ensure that every citizen secure healthcare. The government hospital would be developed on a par with the corporate hospitals, he said.

At a review meeting with the Medical and Health Department officials and other district officials along with the people's representatives, the Minister said the Chief Minister was giving priority to medical and health services and the government would make the State as Arogya Andhra Pradesh. He revealed that the government would establish a kidney disease research centre in Prakasam district and a medical college in Markapuram.

He said that as much as Rs 100 crore would be borrowed from NABARD to develop all government hospitals in the Prakasam district. The government government hospitals in Dornala, Darsi, Cumbum would be developed at cost of Rs 3 crore each, Yerragondapalem at a cost of Rs 23 crore, Giddalur at a cost of Rs 24crore, Chimakurthy at a cost of Rs 6 crore, Markapuram at Rs 20 crore and Kandukur at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
