Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan asks trainee IAS officers to serve people better

Vijayawada: Interacting with the trainee IAS officers, Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan said the top most civil service they entered into gives them tremendous scope and opportunity to serve people and the service also casts on them greater responsibilities to work for upliftment of downtrodden sections of the society.

The trainee IAS officers of 2018 batch allotted to AP cadre, who were undergoing training in AP Secretariat, met the Governor at Raj Bhavan here on Monday.

The second phase of their mandatory training programme at Mussoorie was postponed by a month due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, the State government issued orders posting them in various departments in AP Secretariat after completion of field training. This enabled them to learn various nuances of public administration during this period.

The Governor said as administrators they should ensure that benefits of various welfare schemes implemented by the government reached the intended beneficiaries, while ensuring transparency in public administration as a guiding force in the discharge of their duties.

The Governor also said that as integral part of the public administration, they have to promote national integration, communal harmony and ensure equality, equal justice of law for all as laid down under the Fundamental Rights enshrined in the Constitution.

Secretary to Governor Mukesh Kumar Meena and Director of Protocol Balasubramanyam Reddy were also present on the occasion.
