Governor visits Vice-President residence
Nellore: Governor of Andhra Pradesh Biswabhusan Harichandan visited the city for participating in the convocation of the Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) on Sunday along with the Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu and returned to Vijayawada due to the cancellation of the programme.
He landed at Police Parade Grounds in Nellore at 11.50 am where Industries Minister M Goutham Reddy, IG Vineet Brijlal, Collector MV Seshagiri Babu, SP Rastogi, Vice-Chancellor of VSU Prof R Sudarsana Rao and others welcomed him. He reached R&B Guest House where Tirupati MP B Durgaprasada Rao, former Minister Dr Kamineni Srinivas, and others met him formally.
After coming to know that former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley passed away, varsity officials cancelled the programme as the Vice-President rushed back to Delhi for offering tributes to the departed leader. The Governor formally visited the residence of the Vice-President in city and interacted with M Usha, wife of Venkaiah and his daughter Deepa. He had lunch in Venkaiah's residence along with the senior officials and left for Vijayawada.
