Govt committed to farmers welfare: MP

Rajamahendravaram: MP Margani Bharat Ram has said that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was fulfilling his elections promises in a phased manner after assuming charge five months ago and he was very much interested in the welfare of the farmers.

Participating in YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan Padhakam held at SV Function hall here on Tuesday, he said that Andhra Pradesh was the first state giving top priority for farmers' welfare in the country and now many other states were also following the state in this regard.

During his Praaja Sankalpa Yatra, Chief Minister Y Jaganmohan Reddy heard the woes of the farming community and assured them to address them after coming into power and now doing it.

The State government brought tenant farmers also under this scheme and during five years an amount of Rs 67,500 will be given to each eligible farmer.

YSRCP (Rural) mandal coordinator A Virraju said the scheme helps a lot to the farmers and they need not go here and there for investment. Later, the MP distributed cheques to the farmers. Mandal agriculture department officials Tulasi, Manjula, Srinivas and YSRCP leaders were present.
