Govt. has allocated Rs. 6400 crore for development of roads: AP minister Shankar Narayana

Andhra Pradesh Roads and Buildings Minister Shankar Narayana said that Rs 6,400 crore has been allocated for road development in the state. He said that the government had entered into an agreement with the New Development Bank.

"The reverse tendering process has saved Rs 85 crore and the tenders have already been finalized," minister said. He was incensed that the previous TDP government had misappropriated Rs 3,000 crore borrowed by the RTC. 450 crore was allegedly left in arrears.

He said that the government has already allocated Rs 550 crore for road repairs in the state and Rs 1158 crore is being mobilized for road development through NIDA.

The minister clarified that the first priority would be to develop the roads starting from the districts and then at the zonal level as well.
