Govt. is hiding facts over Eluru incident, alleges TDP leader Nimmala Ramanaidu
Telugu Desam Legislative Party Deputy floor leader Nimmala Ramanaidu alleges that the contamination of municipal water is the cause of the strange disease in Eluru. He said that the one of the reasons for this is the mixing of cow dung waste into the Krishna canal. It is being argued that drinking water from the pump pond is another cause of the disease. He questioned why the government was hiding all the facts about the incident and restricting anyone from going to the pump pond. He spoke to the media in Vijayawada on Wednesday. It was alleged that tenders for development projects in West Godavari district were cancelled twice.
"The YSRCP government is risking the lives of the people for their corruption. If the government does not wake up yet, the Eluru situation will spread across the state. Attacks on the opposition and attention to orthodoxy are not in the interest of protecting public health. The government has not paid attention to the fact that cases have been registered since ten days ago," he said. He pointed out that the Medical experts claims that the strange disease is due to the water and opined that the government has already given statements that it is not due to water.
"Patients are being discharged in a hurry without being kept under observation to reduce the number of victims. The fact that the emergency departments in Vijayawada and Guntur and special medical teams have not been deployed in Eluru so far is a sign of the government's negligence, " Nimmala said. On the other hand, YS Jagan's video conference is underway over the incident to get the full details about the Eluru mysterious disease event.
