Gowdas demand strongly for ministerial berth for MLA Jogi Ramesh
Vijayawada: Pedana MLA Jogi Ramesh has said he would bring the problems faced by the people of Gowda community to the notice of the government and would strive to solve them.
Ramesh attended as the chief guest at the newly elected Gowda community Andhra Pradesh executive body introduction meeting held here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the government was committed to do justice to Gowda community as promised by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy before election at the time of Padayatra.
He appreciated the members for their unity and for forming an association to fight for their demands. Gowda association state president Ch Venkateswara Rao demanded that the government establish a separate corporation and allocate Rs 1,000 crore funds.
He recalled that the CM had promised to establish Gowda Corporation during his Padayatra at Rajahmundry. He said toddy which is the livelihood of Gowdas should be given importance. Land should be allotted at the capital city for establishing Gowda Bhavan, Vignana Kendram and Gowda hostels. He also demanded that the CM include Jogi Ramesh into his cabinet.
The Gowda body elected Jogi Ramesh as chairman. The others elected are president Ch Venkateswara Rao, general secretary Ch Ashok Goud, finance secretary V Venkatachalam, honorary president T Srinivas, executive president V Ramagopala Goud, working president M Veerababu, vice-president M Srihari Rani. Representatives from 13 districts were present in the programme.
