Grievances of senior citizens to be addressed in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Sub-Collector HM Dhyanachandra has said necessary steps would be taken to implement the laws to protect the rights of the senior citizens. Some of our children these days were being indifferent and negligent towards their parents, he lamented.

Dhyanachandra received 278 complaints and representations from the people during the 'Spandana' programme organized at the Sub-collector's office on Monday.An elderly man G Nageswara Rao of Yanamalakuduru narrated his plight and explained how his children cheated him after transfer of property on their names.

The senior citizen said his children were neglecting him and asked the Sub-collector to take necessary action to do justice. Some other senior citizens too lodged complaint on their problems. People submitted representations for sanction of house site pattas, ration cards, pensions and other benefits from the government. Responding to it, the Sub-Collector said necessary steps will be taken to address their grievances and asked the officials to respond to the problems as early as possible.
