Guntur: Former minister and BJP leader Ravela Kishore Babu recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi given Rs 1.7 lakh crore package under Garibi Kalyana Yogana Scheme to extend helping hand to the poor suffered losses due to outbreak of Covid-19.

He addressed a press meet in Guntur city on Thursday. Speaking on this occasion, he remembered that the Central government had given 1.34 lakh tonnes of food grains to Andhra Pradesh free of cost to extend helping hand to the poor and said the Central government had already taken steps to provide employment to the migrated workers.

He recalled that Rs 4 lakh crore package was announced for MSMEs and added that Rs 20 lakh crore package announced by the Centre was useful to the people. He listed out achievements of the BJP government. He said the Central government on the one hand implementing the welfare schemes and developing the country on the other.

BJP state legal cell convener Jupudi Ranga Raju was also present at the press meet.
