Guntur: Collector Samuel Anand Kumar says distribute food packets to beggars

Guntur: District Collector I Samuel Anand Kumar urged the representatives of Non-Government Organisations to arrange food to the destitute, orphans and beggars staying on footpaths in the backdrop of outbreak of Coronavirus.

Addressing a meeting held in the Collectorate on Tuesday, he said due to closure of temples and mosques, beggars may not get food. He urged the NGOs to distribute food packets to the beggars, destitute and orphans. He said that the DMHO will be nodal officer. Leaving the destitute, orphans and beggars on footpaths is not safe in the backdrop of outbreak of coronavirus, he added.

Representatives of the NGOs said that they have started distributing food packets to the beggars. Joint collector Dinesh Kumar, joint collector-2, Sridhar Reddy were among those who participated.
