Guntur: CPM demands more Covid testing centres

Guntur: CPM district secretary Pasam Rama Rao demanded that the government set up sufficient number of Covid-19 testing centres and increase testing machines in the backdrop of increase of Covid-19 cases.

He addressed the media at CPM district party office in Guntur city on Thursday. He said so far two centres in Guntur, one centre each in Macherla Tenali and Narasaraopet were set up. He informed that the doctors were conducting 1,000 tests per day. He felt that if more tests will be conducted, they could check the spread of Covid-19.

He demanded that the government give more Covid-19 testing machines to the district immediately.

CPM leader Y Nethaji criticized that the district administration had failed to provide facilities in the quarantine centres and urged the officials to give nutritious food to the patients. CPM leader K Nageswara was also present.
