Guntur: Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita consoles Saumya's family

Guntur: Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita announced Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of Saumya who committed suicide by consuming pesticide. She visited Saumya's residence at Korrapadu village and extended her support to the family members.

She assured that the government will take stern action against the accused Vara Prasad. Unable to bear harassment of Vara Prasad she consumed pesticide and died while undergoing treatment at GGH in Guntur city.

In her dying declaration, Saumya demanded that the government take stern action against the accused Vara Prasad. It may be mentioned that the police booked case against Vara Prasad and took him into custody.
