Guntur: Joint Collector issues notice to YSRCP MLA Sridevi on caste allegations
The state election chief has ordered that an inquiry be held on Thadikonda MLA Vundavalli Sridevi caste. In the 2019 elections, Vudavalli Sridevi from Tadikonda constituency contested on behalf of YSRCP and won over her opponent and TDP candidate Shravan Kumar.
Later, in an interview, MLA Sridevi complained to the President of India that Santosh on behalf of Legal Rights Protection Forum because she is a Christian. Sridevi, who claims to be a Christian, is not eligible to contest from the SC social constituency. The President's Office responded to the complaint.
The Election Commission has been ordered to investigate the facts. The state election commission has asked the joint collector of Guntur district Dinesh Kumar to submit an inquiry and report on her reservation. In this backdrop, Joint Collector Dinesh Kumar has called for a hearing on Sridevi at 3 pm on the 26th of this month. It is suggested Sridevi bring the necessary documents to prove her community.
