Guntur: Kanna Lakshminarayana demands AP government to send migrant workers to native places
Guntur: BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana demanded that the government take steps to send migrant workers stuck in various districts to their native places in the backdrop of lockdown caused by Covid-19.
He recalled that he had already written a letter to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on the migrant workers problems. But the latter did not respond.
He distributed essential commodities to the BJP activists at a programme held at Arundalpet in Guntur city on Sunday.
Speaking on this occasion, he urged the Chief Minister to send migrant workers stuck in various districts to their native places.
He recalled that the Central government had announced a package of Rs 1.7 lakh crore to help various sections following the outbreak of Covid-19.
He further said that they had extended a helping hand to 25 lakh people in the State so far. He said that at present, the State ranks third in Covid-19 cases.
Party leaders Jupudi Ranga Raju, Palapati Ravi Kumar, Madhava Reddy, Vanama Narendra and P Ravi Shankar were among those who participated.
