Guntur: Lakhs of devotees throng Trikoteswara Swamy temple
Guntur: Several lakhs of devotees visited Sri Trikoteswara Swamy temple at Kotappakonda in Guntur district on Friday on the occasion of auspicious Maha Sivaratri. They performed Abhishekams and Bilwarcha seeking the blessings of Sri Trikoteswara Swamy to fulfill their wishes. Serpentine queues were seen at the temple.
Deputy Speaker Kona Raghupati, MLAs Dr Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy and Pinnelli Rama Krishna Reddy visited the temple and performed puja.
The district administration has arranged special buses for the convenience of pilgrims to reach the temple on the hillock.
The police department has made elaborate security arrangements to ensure smooth darshan of the Lord to the devotees. BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana visited the temple and performed puja to Sri Trikoteswara Swamy. Special pujas were performed to Sri Amareswara Swamy temple at Amaravathi on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri.
The Devastanam authorities started darshan from 3 am for the convenience of devotees visiting the temple because it is one of the Pancharama centres.
The devotees took holy bath in the Krishna river and performed pujas to Amareswara Swamy. The Devastanam authorities have made elaborate arrangements.
Special puja was performed to Sri Bhramaramba Sametha Mallikarjuna Swamy at Pedakakani. Similarly, special pujas were performed to the Lord at all Siva temples since early morning on Friday. Women lit traditional lamps at different temples.
