Guntur: MLC KS Lakshmana Rao criticises that state budget raw deal for education sector
Guntur: Guntur-Krishna districts Graduates constituency MLC KS Lakshmana Rao on Thursday criticized that there is no balance between welfare and development in the state budget for the financial year 2020-21.
Expressing his opinion on state Budget for 2020-21, he said the government neglected irrigation, education and agriculture sectors in the budget. He said the government gave priority for implementation of Navaratnalu and neglected development. He recalled that the government had allotted Rs 13,000 crore for irrigation during the last Budget. However, during this Budget allotment of funds to Irrigation sector was reduced to Rs 11,000 crore. He remembered that government reduced budget allotment to education sector from Rs 29,000 crore to Rs 22,000 crore.
He criticized that Budget to education sector was reduced by Rs 7,000 crore and demanded that the government continue state capital at Amaravati. He further said that state government failed to get funds from the Central government. He recalled that the state government decided to get Rs 57,000 crore from the Centre and secured only Rs 27,000 from the Centre.
