Guntur Municipal Corporation to plant one lakh saplings

Guntur: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Challa Anuradha has said that the GMC will plant one lakh saplings to develop the city as Green Guntur in June and sought the cooperation of ward secretaries, volunteers and people to make this programme a grand success.

Planting saplings at AT Agraharam zero lane in the city on Friday on the occasion of World Environment Day, she stressed on need to plant more saplings and protect them for posterity. Underlining the need to plant saplings to reduce day's temperature, she said it is the responsibility of every person to plant saplings in order to save the environment. She explained the steps taken by the administration to develop greenery in the city.

Several GMC officials were also present.
