Guntur: People urged to be partners in sanitation programme
Guntur: District collector and GMC special officer I Samuel Anand Kumar urged the people to become partners in the special sanitation programme. GMC conducted a special sanitation drive on the occasion of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's birthday on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that following instructions of the Chief Minister they have conducted war against waste programme. The people's representatives and officials participated in the special sanitation programme conducted at PVK Naidu Market in Guntur city. Collector urged the vendors at vegetable market to keep surroundings clean. He said that if the vegetable vendors will conduct clean and green programme, the officials will extend their cooperation.
MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy recalled that the GMC has already conducted war against waste programme. He urged the officials to involve the people in the special sanitation programme. GMC commissioner Challa Anuradha said that they will conduct special sanitation programme from December 22 to 30. She said that they will clean government offices, schools, reservoirs, railway station and bus stand in the mass cleaning programme with the cooperation of staff. She said they will try to get first rank in the Swachh Survekshan.
GMC deputy commissioner D Srinivasa Rao, B Srinivasa Rao, YSRCP leader Kavati Manohar Naidu were among those participated.
