Guntur: Roll back hike in petrol, diesel prices, demands CPM leaders

CPM leaders protesting against petrol and diesel price hike in Guntur on Wednesday

Guntur: CPM leaders on Wednesday protested opposing hike in price of petrol and diesel at Sankar Vilas Centre in Guntur city. Speaking on this occasion, CPM Guntur East secretary Pasam Rama Rao said while the crude price is falling in the international market, the Central government is increasing petrol and diesel price and imposing additional financial burden on the common man.

No need to hike petrol and diesel price in the backdrop of outbreak of Covid-19. Hike in price of diesel and petrol will lead to increase of prices of essential commodities and vegetables.

He demanded that the government waive VAT and excise duty on petrol and diesel immediately to extend helping hand to the people.

CPM leader Y Nethaji gave a call to fight united against the anti-people policies of the Central government. Later, they raised slogans against the Central government.

CPM leaders K Nalinikanth, N Kalidas, N Venkateswara Rao and Naga Malleswara Rao were among those present.
