Guntur: TDP alliance sure of thumping win in Andhra Pradesh

Update: 2024-06-01 07:21 IST

Guntur : Tension seems to be mounting in all political parties ahead of the exit polls though they know that they are not the final word.

As both the TDP-BJP-JSP alliance and the YSRCP continue to exude confidence that they would come to power, they are keeping their fingers crossed and hope that the exit polls would give them necessary energy till June 4.

Sources in the alliance team claim that the BJP national party in New Delhi had got its own post-poll survey done and has also got inputs from intelligence sources that there would be alliance government in the state and that they will win around 135 Assembly seats and around 18 to 20 Lok Sabha seats.

They claim that they are confident because they had seen how the voters were vexed with the anti-people policies of the YSRCP government during the last five years. They want development and feel that only the double-engine government in the state and Centre can deliver it, they claim.

Speculations do not end here. The Jana Sena activists feel that since Pawan Kalyan had played a key role in the making of the alliance a reality, both Pawan and Nadendla Manohar would be given key responsibilities in the new government. Similarly, the BJP too is of the view that as part of alliance dharma, one or two from the BJP may be accommodated in the state Cabinet. Besides this, at least one BJP leader from the state would be taken into Modi 3.0 Cabinet and another one or two from the alliance partners may also be accommodated, they feel.

These speculations assumed importance as TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, JSP president Pawan Kalyan and BJP leaders are likely to meet on June 3 to discuss the political scenario in the state and chalk out future plans. The alliance partners would give topmost priority to the completion of construction of Capital city of Amaravati and Polavaram Project.

It is said that Pawan Kalyan during internal assessment had expressed confidence that they will form the government in the state.

They feel that an increase of voting percentage and transfer of votes between the alliance partners are a few indications that the alliance was coming to power.

The assurances given by the three alliance parties regarding an increase in Old Age Pension to Rs 4,000 per month, three free domestic gas cylinders per year, free RTC Bus facility for women and setting up of Software Companies in various cities and job creation by bringing industries to the state and the promise to scrap the Land Titling Act had got the approval from the people.
