Guntur: Tobacco Board Executive Director K Sunita urged to improve skills to get better jobs

Guntur: Tobacco Board Executive Director K Sunita urged Dalit women to avail the benefits of the welfare schemes launched by the State government to gain financially.

She addressed a meeting held under the aegis of Dalit Sthree Shakti on 'Shramika Sthreelu- Updadhi Avakasalu' on the occasion of International Women's Day here. She said that though women are working on par with men, they were not getting equal wages. Women are not getting equal pay due to poverty.

The poor women are facing anemia due to lack of nutritious food. She suggested women to improve their skills to get better opportunitiesand improve their marketability.

District Industries Centre general manager Patel felt that the country will develop, if 50 per cent of women will get nominated posts in the State government.

Dalit Sthree Shakti national convener Geddam Jhansi presided over the meeting.
