Guntur Urban District Police to be upgraded as Police Commissionerate

Guntur: Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita has given her approval to upgrade the Guntur urban police district as Police Commissionerate. The proposal is now being studied by the Finance Department for budget allocation, according to sources.

Sources in the Home Department said as soon as Finance Department gave its approval, the file would be submitted to the Chief Minsters.

According to sources in the Police Department, the government will bring Tullur, Phirangipuram, Duggirala police stations under the jurisdiction of the Police Commissionerate. This is in addition to the police station which are under the limits of Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police district.
